Someone’s motive for politics might be money or power, but the essence of politics is to serve. And to serve is a spiritual act.

Thinking beyond death, any form of conscious selflessness, and concern for the well-being of the human world/society after your death is the indication of spirituality. 

Spirituality is the predestination of human species and also a necessity–a curse and a blessing altogather; the unbearable lightness of being relentlessly chases human mind which is so powerful that it can drive us crazy, we get depressed that often lead us to suicide.

Suicide is an interresting phenomena, it creates the moment when liberty/individual freedom might be suspended, it is the ending line of liberty. that is why prevention of suicide against one’s will is praiseworthy.

duniyabi purpose of life: happiness/personal quest.

The precondition of happiness is peace (for muslims its Islam, meaning peace, literally).

The primary purpose of politics is to create peace, different political parties are different schools of seeking it, prescriptions/methodology to achieve peace.

lack of peace is the indication of julm/lack of justice. julm is the disturbance in the peace-pond, julm is the stone cast in the pond, splash is the resistance.

when there is a lack of consent (kobuliyat), julm occurs. julm is an injustice as it destroys peace. That is why violating the rule of kobuliyat is the initiation of enslavement (pain and sufferings) which is called crime. Even disease is a form of enslavement; that’s why public health must be a political commitment, a responsibility of state and government.

crime is not necessarily sin in every religion; sin is something between an individual human and the god. As to occur a crime, the rule of kobuliyat must be violated, it requires at least two humans (maklukat), therefore it is social. Thus sins need to be public/social to be qualified as crimes.

When crimes/julm happen, the victim deserves the compensation which is known as revenge. As julm creates resentment in the mind of the victim, revenge might often lead to a new julm, revenge might exceed the due compensation. Here we get the essence of the law and justice system. When the crime and the compensation (revenge) is proportionate, its called justice and its the combination of the two ideas–compensation and revenge which is called punishment.

Here comes the essence of state which is nothing but a system that maintains law and justice, formalizes the compensation for julm, punishes the oppressors/jalems, by which,  neutralizes resentment by meeting the victim’s craving for revenge.

now, systems require hierarchy and actors; and systems always empower certain actors, systems engage people in power relations. and thus systems create a new possibility of julm, as the empowered has the increased capability that can create enslavement. Enslavement starts with the violation of the rule of consent (Kobuliyat).

Now we get to the very purpose of politics, the process/method of gaining  consent of the citizens that legitimizes the governance. The government must be legitimized and renewed periodically through the consent of citizens to keep the possibility of julm/injustice/enslavement lowest/minimal.

so, the people/citizens build up the state to minimize their enslavement, preventing julm/injustice; then they build up the system, empowers some citizens over them, they establish politics, justice system,  law to control that overwhelmingly massive power, constitution, election to renew their consent with the possibility of political punishment to the rulers. the purpose of establishing the state is to serve the people; that means the duty of the system or government is to serve. The governing system/government (even the very idea of the state) is a necessary evil.

Three things a state needs to maintain peace: to minimize the sense of enslavement and be immune to people’s revolt against tyranny.
